Welcome to the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour City's Cartoon
Awards. This is a competition for National & International
cartoonists.
Our aims are to exhibit, promote and conserve black and white
art (cartooning) and to ultimately raise funds for Rotary Charities.
To this end our cartoons have been exhibited in both Federal and
State Parliament Houses.
The competition is recognised by FECO as the only cartoon
competition in Australia.
Cartoons from the competition are exhibited in the Cartoon
Gallery in Coffs Harbour. This is the only gallery dedicated to
cartooning (black & white art) in Australia.
The National Awards normally have 7 categories:
Open Theme
Political Business
Sport
Comic Strip
Caricature
Special Theme nominated each year.
Australian cartoonists may enter these awards.
The International Awards
An international theme is chosen each year. International entries must be non-verbal.
Awards
The Cartoon of the Year receives $1,500
The winner of each category or theme receives $750
Merit awards for each category or theme receives $250
All winners and merit awards will receive a plaque of recognition
Publication and Exhibition
This web-site will publish all category winners each year.
The cartoon and the cartoonists biography will be included on the
web-site.
The cartoon gallery has 4 exhibitions a year. A selection,
including winners are exhibited for 3-4 months after the
announcement of the awards at a gala function in August each year.
Exhibitions based on past themes and special occasions
(Centenary of Federation) are displayed throughout the year.
